Read the article here and then come to my barre classes for your muscular endurance party! In light of new pandemic safety guidelines, our indoor fitness classes are suspended. I appreciate and respect Health officials' decision to keep us all safe.
Our 9am barre classes will resume safely outdoors in the Hall parking area tomorrow, Friday, November 20th. Unfortunately, yoga outdoors is not possible as it is difficult to keep warm. I am hopeful we will resume yoga in the New Year. For tomorrow's class and every Monday, Wednesday, Friday thereafter, please dress appropriately. Hats, rain coats, warm layers, gloves and shoes and your outdoor yoga mat. Rain or shine, I will be there. I hope you will accept this challenge too! I look forward to braving the elements and sweating outdoors safely. Let's keep our distance while we move together and stay strong physically and mentally in these challenging times. Masks are not required. To ensure the safety of ourselves, our community and the ability to be together in fitness, I am implementing new strategies that will further enhance the existing COVID protocols at the Hall. Please wear your mask upon entering, exiting and while preparing your exercise space on the marked sticker on the Hall floor. Masks may be removed once you are ready to begin class. Enter through front doors and please exit through side doors. As usual, please use hand sanitizer provided and socialize from a distance. Remember to layer up with warm clothing as the doors will be open throughout classes. More than ever I am grateful for the opportunity to move with my community and will strive to ensure our continued health both mentally and physically throughout the winter season. It's in our hands now, let do our part. See you in class!
It is wonderful to be back in all the ways...in Victoria and indoors at the Hall! I am grateful beyond words to have community support as we transition inside with new regulations and precautions. The hall has ensured our safety with an increased cleaning schedule after every event. In addition, the size of the Hall allows 2 meters of space between participants. As we move ahead into Fall, please use hand sanitizer provided at the Hall entrance and please stay home if you are feeling unwell. In our little Prospect Lake bubble, it is my hope that we will be able to ride the wave safely together in the little Hall that could!
With a garden like this, I wish our weather was nice enough to always have outdoor classes! The dahlias were a real delight this year and the colours were so vibrant! However, the Hall is so beautiful too! I love this cozy Hall and I'm sure the transition indoors will be easy with plenty of space to move and stretch in comfort. Just a note that prices will increase to reflect the change of venue. Indoor classes will cost $12/drop-in and $100/ 10 class punch card. Hope to move with you soon!
September 2020 feels like I am emerging from the COVID fog to not only a changed fitness landscape but also an opportunity to reinvent the way I deliver my Barre & Yoga fitness classes. With increased safety measures and operating protocols, moving indoors will feel safe and protected. I am especially grateful to have the large space at the Hall, with an increased cleaning schedule, to help us navigate this new situation. 2 meter spacing between participants will be easily met and entrance and exit doors will be separate. All participants are asked to take their belongings with them to their workout space. Bathrooms are available and will be not only clean but able to be used one person at a time. Please join us Wed Sept 9th for classes outdoors in the garden, moving indoors mid September. Contact me with any further details regarding this new fitness experience. Barre & Yoga Schedule here! this is the Cape Scott summer fog!
Join me in beautiful Victoria with outdoor classes at Prospect Lake Community Hall at 5358 Sparton Rd. The gardens are perfect and we have moved and grooved beside the flowers and trees. Now I have a 2 week break to experience a real west coast adventure! Hiking and backpacking in Cape Scott, the northern tip of Vancouver Island. I look forward to seeing you all in class and depending on weather in September, our classes will be indoors in the Fall 2020 season! In the meantime, visit my YouTube channel marlenevalefitness for 100+ classes.
